DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Dezso Horvath (Wigner FK)\n\nThe anomalous magnetic 
 moment of the muon is under intensive study since decades as it can be mea
 sured and calculated with very high precision\, and so it is a sensitive t
 est of the Standard Model. In this talk I follow through the development o
 f the experimental technique and the obtained results. There was a 4$\\sig
 ma$ uncertainty difference between measurement and theory until 2001 when 
 lattice QCD calculations changed the estimation of the hadronic vacuum pol
 arisation and gave results close to the experimental average. However\, th
 is ab-initio calculaton  contradicted to previous theoretical calculation
 s\, which were "data-driven"\, based on hadron production in electron-posi
 tron scattering. A recent measurement at VEPP-2000 resolved this problem.\
