Description
I will discuss some recent work on the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz (TBA) based on a quantum deformed relative of the S-matrix of the lightcone gauge fixed superstring on AdS_5 x S^5. This S-matrix interpolates between the string S-matrix and an S-matrix conjectured to be the S-matrix for the Pohlmeyer reduction of the string. I will spend some time introducing these various topics. At a technical level I will discuss some interesting features of the TBA for this model, such as crossing symmetry at the level of the TBA equations, and dependence of the Y-system on excited states.
