Description
We discuss the properties of the Polyakov loop and baryon number fluctuations as probes for the deconfinement and the chiral phase transition in QCD. The arguments will be presented in the context of Lattice QCD and an effective chiral model calculations based on the functional renormalisation group.
We connect theoretical findings with experimental data.
