Description
Dual active galactic nuclei (AGN) play a crucial role in understanding supermassive black hole growth and evolution in merger systems. The milliarcsecond resolution provided by Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) is indispensable for resolving these closely separated systems. In this talk, I will present the high-resolution VLBI imaging investigations of two sub-kiloparsec-scale dual AGN candidates: MCG-03-34-64 and UGC 4211. No dual compact radio core structures were detected, and both targets exhibit core-jet morphologies. The multi-wavelength analysis of the VLBI-detected nuclei provides unique insights into the black hole accretion state and jet launching in such dusty and highly obscured merger environments. In addition, I will mention the radio survey cross-matching and detectability results for recently published samples of dual AGN candidates.
