Description
Higher harmonics from asymmetric compact binaries may enter the Einstein Telescope’s observing band before the dominant quadrupole signal. This ext the interval over which Earth’s rotation changes the detector response. We examine how much noise-weighted signal accumulates during this earlier interval, comparing a triangular detector in the Euregio Meuse–Rhine region with two pairs of L-shaped detectors at Sardinia–Meuse–Rhine and Sardinia–Lusatia. By accounting for Earth’s rotation, we investigate how detector geometry affects the observable early signal. This provides a quantitative starting point for assessing the harmonics’ contribution to early source characterization.
